EcostoreUSA Review

When I was contacted by Maggie at EcostoreUSA, I jumped at the opportunity to review 2 of their products!  EcoStoreUSA offers many types of cleaning products, from Baby to Household.  When my products arrived I couldn't wait to try them out.  I was surprised when I received a 3rd product to review.  I chose to review the All Purpose Spray Cleaner and the Coconut-Vanilla Body Wash, I also received the Lemongrass bar soap.

The All Purpose Spray Cleaner:

Ingredients
  • D-Limonene (from citrus)
  • Palm and coconut based non-ionic and anionic surfactants
  • Fatty acid derivative
  • Ethanol
  • Filtered water

The smell is very pleasant.  I use it on my counter tops, my glass top stove, the bathroom, and even on my hardwood floors after the puppy has accidents.  I even let my daughter use it to clean with because I am not worried about it hurting her like I do with other chemicals.  You can check it out here

The Coconut-Vanilla Body Wash:

Ingredients
  • Water
  • Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate
  • Sodium Lauroamphoacetate
  • Wheat Germamidopropyldimonium
  • Hydroxypropyl Hydrolysed Wheat Protein
  • Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride
  • Sodium Hydroxymethyl Glycinate
  • Certified Organic Fragrance
I loved the way the soap made my skin feel.  I also like that "
Unlike many leading brands, ecostore USA body care products do not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, artificial dyes, perfumes or preservatives which means they are extremely kind to sensitive skin."  The smell is really good too.  I love coconut and vanilla and with them both together it was a pure heavenly mix.  You can check this one out here.

Lemongrass Bar Soap:

Ingredients
  • Sodium Palmate (palm oil)
  • Sodium Cocoate (coconut oil)
  • Sodium chloride (salt)
  • Vegetable Glycerine
  • Tetra Sodium Etidronate and Tetra Sodium EDTA (antioxidants used to preserve the stability of vegetable oils in soap base. Derived from vinegar. Safe for skin)
  • Lemongrass oil
  • Titanium Dioxide
The only person in my home that uses bar soap is my daughter.  I loved the scent of this soap.  Her skin was soft after she used the soap.

About
EcoStoreUSA
(borrowed from their website
Ecostore NZ was founded more than 15 years ago by Melanie and Malcolm Rands from their home in an eco village in New Zealand.
All of the families that lived in the farm based eco village shared a commitment to organic growing and healthy living, making this an ideal environment in which a young, environmentally conscious business could thrive. Each household in the village was responsible for their own waste water, which quickly highlighted the problems caused by using regular supermarket cleaning products that relied heavily on cheap, petroleum-based, synthetic ingredients.
Faced with the challenge of protecting the pristine rural waterways of the eco village, Malcolm Rands began to research and seek expert help from scientists to develop household cleaning products using plant-based ingredients that would biodegrade safely and quickly. Achieving his goal, he eliminated the need to use toxic chemicals, leaving the eco villages water pure. His goal was more than accomplished as the product line of this home-based business began to grow, and an exciting future began to unfold.
The original customer base of ecostore NZ was comprised of mostly ‘Greenies’ and organic gardeners. However, it was not long before testimonials from other parents (many of whom were unaware of the benefits of eco-friendly products) began to pour in with wonderful news of their children's allergies and eczema clearing up. Many noted that any respiratory issues were healing, and many lingering chronic conditions were disappearing.
By simply changing to the genuinely clean and green ecostore products, people were experiencing surprising and unexpected improvements in their health. As the notion of using products with “No Nasty Chemicals™” gained popular appeal, ecostore quickly outgrew its location in the Rand’s basement and the business moved to a storefront in Auckland, New Zealand.

Whats new in my world?

I have been so busy lately with the new things all seeming to happen at one time!

If you notice my Something Exciting Button changed! It is now a countdown clock!! Whoo Hoo!! Soon you will know what I am doing with that!.

Here in the real world I started my photograph business!  I landed a gig taking pictures for the largest specialty clinic around here.  I am taking the pictures of all the doctors, nurse practitioners, upper management and candid shots.  I am exhausted to say the least.  I am on day 3 of taking pictures.  I only have about 8 people left to take pictures of and then the candid shots we are doing tomorrow.  I have a new website for my photography it is www.norarosephotography.com and a facebook page too, if you would like to check them out.

Well I am off to get ready for another busy day! I hope yall have a great Wednesday!!!

Protecting your Photos on Facebook

So I was reading a blog post about how companies now have applications that connects your facebook albums to their company's photo labs to be able to print the pictures.  This might be okay for some people but for professional photographers this is a huge problem because they are in sense infringing on the copyrights.  I put together the list that they provided in the comments section here on this blog.  Just go to each app and click block application and your photo albums will not be available for others to print.

Target:
http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=351684036263&ref=ts

One of Walmarts (I am not sure if this is a photo one):

Shutterfly:

I did this for all of mine because I do not want someone printing my work with out my permission.

"C" is for Captain Cupcake

This is our new puppy that we have had for a few weeks.  He loves to run in the yard and fetch sticks. His over all favorite thing to do is sleep on Sephy's black blanket on the couch.  He blends right in sometimes I will say "Where is Captain?" Sephy always laughs and says "Mom, he is on the couch hiding again in the blanket!" He is a pretty good little puppy, very good temperament. We did rescue him from a shelter.  If you are looking for a new pet please consider the shelter first.

"B" is for Blackberries

Sephy and Dusty love blackberries, me not so much.  I did however have fun setting this shot up.  They are in a clear wine glass.  The background is a pillow sham with the Starry Night painting design on it. I used an action called dreamy on it to make the background blur and soften more.  The background was already blurred because my focus was the blackberries. I am not sure who made the action because it is one that was purchased a few years ago.

Happy Homemaker Monday

hhm
(if you would like to join in hop on over and visit Sandra!)

The weather in my neck of the woods:

Things that make me happy:
My daughter being excited about starting school today!

Book I'm reading:
Not reading anything right now

What I'm enjoying on TV:
Eureka and Haven on SyFY

 On the menu for dinner:
Steak, Broc and cheese, and potatoes

On my To Do List:
Laundry

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
I want to try something with fruit this week.

In the craft basket:
Ice Cream Magnets

Looking forward to this week:

Starting our First day of the 6th grade! We are just starting with reading comprehension  and Math review.

Tips and Tricks:

Sephy had a build up of chlorine in her hair when from when she was in TX and I washed her hair with Dawn dish soap and it stripped all the chemicals out of her hair making it smell fresh and clean. I followed it with Dove's intense repair conditioner and it made it soft.

My favorite blog post this week:
I am at over 600 in my reader as of right now so I need to play catch up!

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

This is a honey bee colony at a museum we went to on Friday.  We couldn't figure out what the little beetle looking things are. If you know let me know.  It looked like they are baby bees. Because the other bigger bees looked like they where feeding them.   It was really neat. I know the picture isn't the best but it was being taken through glass.

Lesson learned the past few days:

I love having one on one time with my daughter and it really is important to have those fun times often!

On my mind:

That Dusty's side job will take off.

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:

I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. When I was in distress, I sought the Lord' at night I stretched out untiring hands and my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered you, O God, and I groaned; I mused, and my spirit grew faint. Selah
Psalms 77: 1-3

Cooking with Sephy!

Sephy has been able to cook for sometime now. She is really good at making Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. She can make a cake from a box mix with out any help except putting it in and out of the oven. This part still scares her.  She loves to help in the kitchen too. When I need to cut up fruit or veggies she is right there to help.  I just give her a steak knife instead of a really sharp knife.

Sephy has been at camp all week so I haven't got to cook with her this week. =(

Here she is helping me make strawberry jelly back in May.

Black and White Wednesday~Hubby

the long road
If you would like to see more black and white pictures head on over to The Long Road to China

I found this really neat blog today and I edited this with her action called Raspberry Tea. I did more than just run her action I played with the background and made it have the halo effect. This is one of the pictures that I took when I was playing with my green screen.

You can check her blog out at the button below.  I really enjoyed lurking on her site and downloading everything possible. :)

Off to Camp

My baby girl is off to camp for the first time.
She will be gone for 5 days, and 4 really long nights to her momma.
Sending her off with church is so much different than sending her off with the Grandmas that is for sure.
Part of me just wanted to pull her away and keep her with me and say nope your not going. Boy would she be made at me if I did that. I have to keep telling myself that this is good for her. She will have a good time. I always enjoyed camp and I want to her experience the same thing.
