New School Year around the corner.

The new school year is sneaking up on us quickly.  I love this time of year when we start getting ready for the new year.  We started looking at new curriculum for Sephy.  I can't believe my baby girl is now a jr. high kid.  Just seems like yesterday I was walking her down the hall to Kindergarten. This year is a special year for her.  She gets to be in the Youth Group.  She was so excited she gets to do what the BIG kids get to do now.  Plus with us having another exchange student this year she gets to do things with them.  I hope that Sephy and our new student have a good bond and get a long great.  I want this year to be perfect for both of them.

Our new exchange student come to Mississippi on Saturday!! I am excited.  This year is going to be a fun year.  Since I am now working for the company AYUSA, we use to host the student in our home, I am supervising 4 other students in my area.  One of them will be right here in the same neighborhood.  I am so excited.   I don't think I can say that to much.  =)   I am having a slumber party for them in August so they can get to know each other and me.  I am really looking forward to that.

Are you ready for the new school year to start?

Beaded Watches

I have been crafty lately.

Sephy has to have a Christmas outfit for dance.  I decided to try the Semi No-Sew Tutu.
This is part of her costume.  I can't decide if I like the black or if I should do a white shirt instead.

I liked how it turned out so well that I made two of them and hair bows to match.
The one on the right is Sephy's and the one on the left is for a friends little girl.

Close-ups of the waist bands.

This is the hair bow.  It is a hair rubber band made to look like the bigger tutu just miniature sized. =)

Macro Shot of the hair bow.

First Horse Show

On Sunday, Sephy was in her first horse show.  She showed a friends horse Abbie.
She did really well in the Halter class and took home Second Place!

I was one proud momma.  It took a lot for Sephy to get out and show the horse and be confident enough to stay positive and get through it.  There where 12 in the Halter class in her age group.  Her daddy even went to work and bragged about how good she did.  I was happy to hear that today from one of his co-workers.

6th Grade Rocks!

We started last week on our 6th grade curriculum.  Lets just say 6th Grade Rocks!!!!!

Sephy is doing really good.  She has learned new things and her eyes light up when she figures it out for the first time on her own.

She learned to crochet hats this past week too!
Here is a picture of her first hat and the next one is her second hat.

(I am not quite sure why it has a line, just bad camera phone)

I hope that everyone has a great Monday!

Off to Camp

My baby girl is off to camp for the first time.
She will be gone for 5 days, and 4 really long nights to her momma.
Sending her off with church is so much different than sending her off with the Grandmas that is for sure.
Part of me just wanted to pull her away and keep her with me and say nope your not going. Boy would she be made at me if I did that. I have to keep telling myself that this is good for her. She will have a good time. I always enjoyed camp and I want to her experience the same thing.

We are just Home Schoolers.

Persephone came home from school yesterday and decided she doesn't want to go back next year.  She was really upset.  This isn't the first time.  She doesn't have friends. She is always telling me that everyone makes fun of her. My heart breaks when she tells me these things.

We had a deal and if she wanted to try out school here then she had to stick it out until the end of the year (which is now Monday instead of Today). She liked the school's art based programs, which I did too. Their lack of communication between home and school are really bad.  Persephone wanted to try out for cheer leading. Instead of them sending the note home with everyone they gave it to a few people in her class and she wasn't in her class at the time. I tried for 4 days to get the information sent home. I sent a note and called and they said they would send it home. Finally Wednesday comes which is one of the try-out days and guess what she is now to late.  That is what made her so mad. (This was just the straw that broke the camels back. We have had more issues through out the school year just I have kept them to myself.)  She knew she couldn't do anything this year because she started school here late and knew there was next year.  Now she just doesn't want to have anything to do with school.  She told me I just like homeschooling because at least I don't have to worry about my feelings getting hurt.

Her Daddy asked her what she didn't like about school.  This is what she told me she told him:
The food is horrible, The kids always fight,  They make fun of me, It is boring, They don't follow through with what they say they will do.

My husband is very demanding about her education.  He knows she will get a better education at home because we will cater to what she needs.  He told me that she can go back to homeschooling but she will have to work harder.  I kind of laughed because the whole reason she is bored at public school is because she has to repeat everything she has already learned at home from home schooling and not to mention I think Mississippi schools might be a little further behind in when they should be teaching the students what.  I told him that it probably wont be to hard to get her in the 6th grade for this year and on track where she should be for her age since public schools and their assessments have held her back a year.

We are just meant to be home schoolers. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

The Birth Story of My Princess

How my baby girl came into the world.

Sephy was due on August 11th. They scheduled me to be induced at midnight, which was a Wednesday. They started the pitocin and I never really had real contractions so they SENT ME HOME!!

I was like what! Why are you sending me home??

They where like she just isn't ready to come into the world yet.

They set me back up to come back in on Thursday/Friday at Midnight.

So we start the process all over again.  Pitocin and then in the early hours my blood pressure went up.  They gave me the magnesium.

Around 9 or 10am everyone that was there waiting it out with US decided to go down stairs to get some food.

My daddy stayed with me.  I told him that I needed to go pee.  I stood up to go to the restroom and my dad was standing there and I "peed" on myself.  I was so upset.  I just started to cry and stood there with this "pee" running all over the place and saying I can't believe I just "peed" on myself in front of my dad.  My dad ran to get a nurse to help me since I was in shock.  The nurse comes in and goes sweetie you didn't pee on yourself.  Your water just broke.  As soon as she said that and I took a deep breath my contractions started coming really hard.

My dad ran or walked I don't really know since I was in my room, and went to get Dusty and let him know that my water broke.

The doctor came in and said I think that it is time to get an epidural and I told her I really didn't want one.  She said sweetheart you are going to need one because the baby's heart rate keeps going up and down.

So I get my epi.  The nurse and the anesthesiologist where shocked because I stayed so still even through off the chart contractions.  To be honest they really weren't that bad.  Just like a really bad cramp.

I slept off and on after I got my Epi. around 4ish the doctor comes in and says well we need to take her and take her now because your still not dilated and her heart rate keeps changing.  They get me prepped and off to the OR I go to have a c-section.

Sephy was born into this world at 5:45pm on Friday August 13, 1999. She weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 19inches long.

Yes I have a FRIDAY the 13th Baby!!!

This was the first time I got to see her.

They are weighing my baby girl.

I can't believe how young and small I look.

Busy Busy Bees We Are

Wow it has been a busy last few days around here.

Thursday I went to the doctor.  I was so nervous that I was going to get bad news and instead I got good news. That was such a relief.  I got the go ahead saying that it was okay if I get pregnant.  It just might take a few months so don't get my hopes up.  Which I won't because I am giving this to God.  If he wants me to have another child he will allow it to happen.  I am just glad I am healthy, my blood pressure is good, no cyst on my ovaries, no more fibroids in my breast tissue so I am doing good.

Sephy had a musical Thursday night called Nora's Ark.  It was written by Eli Yamin and Clifford Carlson.  Her School was the premiere performance for it in Mississippi.  You can go here and see more info on it.
Persephone was on the stage crew.  She didn't want to do a acting part.  But I wanted her to participate in it. I am so glad she did because she enjoyed it so much.

These are her in front of some of her work.  She did a lot more but really didn't want me to take pictures.

Then Friday night we had Power Weekend at church with Jeff Slaughter.  If you don't know who Jeff Slaughter is check out Lifeway's VBS Music or his website.  He has been doing VBS music for a while now.  It was a lot of fun to watch the kids have fun and worship God.  Persephone really had a blast.  Sunday morning the children will sing with Jeff during the morning worship service and then we will be having a lunch afterwards.

Don't forget about my giveaway that is going on.  The last day to sign up is Friday.  One lucky winner will be winning a really neat spa gift pack from Yoplait that has a cool towel wrap, some slippers, a nail brush, face towel, sponge and massager plus 2 free VIP coupons to try out the new Greek Yogurt.  Sign up here!!!

Jaguars, Tigers, and maybe a bear..

I love this saying!

I decided Thursday that since she is out of school on Friday we will head to the Zoo.  The Zoo here takes about 30 mins to walk around.  Maybe 30 animals if that to see.  It is by far not they type of Zoo we are accustomed to.  The Zoo's in Texas and Oklahoma take most the day to see the entire thing. We did the whole zoo and I used it the opportunity to take some new pics of my Princess.  She is growing up way to fast.  I want her to stay that cute little girl.

She wouldn't just jump from the ground up, so she jumped off the rock.

Oh and this was her attempt at dressing herself and having her own style.  I didn't buy them or piece the outfit together, she did it all on her own.
