Ultimate Dilly Ranch Burgers

Our Homeschool Home

I am ready for Summer but who isn't right?? I know I am.

With the new way we eat, we grill out a lot.  This recipe contest is right up my alley.  It is hosted by Robin over at Our Homeschool Home.  If you would like to join in then just click the button at the top there or the link right back there.

My recipe is a burger recipe.  We tend to eat lots of them cause they are fast and cheap.

Ultimate Dilly Ranch Burgers

2lbs Fresh Ground Chuck the 80/20 one.
1 Pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Harvest Dill mix
Salt
Pepper
1/4 cup Quick Oats
1 Cup Shredded  Mozzarella Cheese

In a large bowl break up the hamburger meat so it is easy to mix the ingredients into it.
Add the Dill mix, the quick oats and then salt and pepper to taste and then the cheese.
Mix until it is all mixed together well.
Spread out a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and form 1/4lb balls and form into a patty.
We use a burger press.
Place on the cookie sheet for easy storage.

Cook on grill to your liking.  We like ours medium well.

Serve on a any type of hamburger bun and your normal condiments.  I like either a good kaiser roll or the Sandwich thins for bread.

Best side to go with them is Homemade Sweet Potato Fries.  You can get that recipe here.  I found that if you use parchment paper under them they get crispier.  But normally they are not crispy but they are so so good.

Enjoy!

Thinking...

Thinking about things in my life sometimes will make me step back and
re-evaluate what is going on and why. I often find myself asking God if I can handle this.  Is this the right step we should be going in? Am I doing the right thing? Why am I worrying about this?  The word 'this' is my hypothetical problem. But in a way it really isn't hypothetical at all.

I am worried about Thursday. I go in to the doctor for my yearly appointment and I am scared that they are going to tell me I can't have another child.  I worry that they are going to say things like your to old or your to over weight.  I know some of those answers are not something I really want to hear right now.  I know in my heart that I want another child.  I feel that if it wasn't in God's plan for us to have another child my husband's vasectomy would still be good. But it isn't. So now it is all on my body and up to God for us to have another child.  I keep telling myself that is up to God, but deep down I do not want to give up that control.  I want to be the one that says this is what is going to happen.  I don't care what anyone else has to say.  I know that I can not. I do not have that control, it is up to the Lord!.

Sunday night we where given a new song in choir practice, that I wanted to share.  I know that it isn't a brand new song but I had never heard it before until Sunday night.  The song is called "My Life is in Your Hands". It is written by Kirk Franklin.  This song has really made some sense to me since Sunday.

"I know that I can make it
I know that I can stand
No matter what may come my way
My life is in your hands"

Happy Homemaker Monday

hhm

(if you would like to join in hop on over and visit Sandra!)

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Beautiful, a little humid, and it might rain tomorrow.

Things that make me happy:
When my daughter tells me she loves me.

Book I'm reading:
I am not a huge book reader.  I just finished Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott.  It is marked for young readers and I got it for my daughter to read and read the first couple of pages. Had it read in 2 days. But it is not for young tween/teen girls that is for sure.
What I'm enjoying on TV:
US of TARA- It is a funny show. I love just watching it over and over.
Rachel Ray-  I just can't seem to not watch her shows.

 On the menu for dinner:
Leftover Brisket and Baked Potatoes

On my To Do List:
Sweep the carport
Clean the kitchen
Do some laundry
Clean the bathroom

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
Spelt Kaiser Rolls- Here is a
link that has a recipe to them. I have one in a book that I will use.

In the craft basket:
Don't really do very many crafts, but I have been wanting to make something for my daughters teachers for teacher appreciation week next week.

Looking forward to this week:

Going to the Doctor on Thursday. Although if I am lucky they can get everything worked out and I can start meds to be on my way to having another baby.

Tips and Tricks:

When you can't get the lint off the dryer lint tray, lick your finger and then run your finger over it and it will come right off.
My favorite blog post this week:

@Almighty over at Layton Family Joy

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):

Lucy's Reality- She will say things that most might be afraid to say. I really like her views!

No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

This was taken by my friend Liz. Sephy was 7yrs old here.

Lesson learned the past few days:

That you must stop and enjoy God's Creations.

On my mind:

Afraid that when I go to the doctor Thursday that they will say I can't have another baby.

Anger much?

Today on the way home from picking up Sephy from school and the hubster from work, we where driving down the same road we always go.  Well one of the two ways we go.  There where some teenage boys out throwing a football across the street. I slowed down so that they knew I didn't want them throwing it over my van.  Well they ended up throwing it and I made a comment to my hubby that if that ball hits my van I hope that he gets out and gets them.  That isn't what he heard at all.  He said boy talk about someone who needs anger management.  He thought I said I was going to get out and pop them for hitting my van with a ball.  He was like slam on the breaks get out of the car and just pop them both and jump back in the car and drive off.  I was like oh yeah sure. I am not about to jump out of my van and try to hit two big boys just because they hit my van.  But I would make them pay for any damages that is for sure.

I think that sometimes I do pop off on things with out thinking and the last couple of weeks I have seemed to do it more than normal.  BUT I will not at all harm someone for their stupid acts.

I guess sometimes my brain just doesn't want to work right.  I sure hope that it gets back to normal soon.

God Watches over us all....

Today I thought was going to be a normal payday Thursday.

God had something else planned.

I did my normal morning routine, Shower, get dressed, brush teeth and we all headed out the door.

I took Sephy to the Doctor.  It was a fast appointment. Just renewing her meds and she did a once over on her and said she looked like she was getting taller.  Got our Rx and left.

Stopped by the Library, picked up 8 new books for Sephy to read and 1 for me (that was for her but I read the first chapter and said nope I ain't letting her read this.)

I take Persephone to school and then head to the Pharmacy.  Pay $30 bucks for her Rx.

Head home for a moment to pick up my Giveaway Necklaces so that I can mail them.

Head to the post office.

I drive past the post office, thinking to myself.  Yeah there are parking spots in the front, so I turn around and I am sitting at the stop sign to turn.  All of a Sudden all the parking spaces where full but ONE.  That one was going to be mine.  So I wait and wait for all the cars to go by so that I can turn.  A red car is slowing down and I am like NO NO NO that is my parking spot.  (this is all in my head mind you)  So this red car goes to Park.

I am sitting there watching her.  She pulls in and goes to stop.

BUT

Instead she Plows into the side of the POST OFFICE.

I was like OMG.  Lord please let her be okay.  Please don't let her be bleeding I do not want to get blood on my new shirt.  ( I know selfish of me, but really I wouldn't have cared I can always buy new clothes)

Finally I can cross the street.  Guess What I got the parking spot I was going for.

I flew out of my van.  My cell phone was already in my hand as I walked really fast to her, because another man was standing there talking to her already.  I called 911 told the lady.  Hi my name is Cherees R------- I am at the Central Post office at the end of Magnolia and a Lady just ran into the post office.  ( I know that she is thinking on the other end, so everyone is running into the post office today. because not until after that did It dawn on me today is tax day.)  So I told the dispatcher that I need an ambulance.  She said okay one is on the way.

I talked to the lady.  I said Hi My name is Cherees.  What is your name.  She said Gloria.  I was like nice to meet you.  Are you hurting anywhere.  She said yes my knees.  I told her I don't want you to move until the EMTs get here because it isnt safe.  I asked her if there was anyone she wanted me to call because if they don't take you to the ER you are going to need a ride.  I called someone for her.  I stayed and just kept her talking until the EMT got there.

I had to even help the EMTs with the car door because it kept shutting on them.

I had to stay there until they got her in the ambulance and the car onto the wrecker, because of that oh so cherished parking space.

Gloria is okay, they did take her to the ER just to make sure but she was talking and was just in pain.  Her pretty Red car is all crushed.

My nerves are still a little shaken because of the what if's.
I am thankful that Gloria is okay.
I am thankful that I was there to help and talk to her.
I am thankful that God was watching over her and that she hit the side of the building instead of the railing that would have made the nose of her car fall into it and it could have been worse.
I am thankful that God made me wait for that cherished parking spot.

But, I never did go into the Post Office today because after that I just wanted to leave that area and spend time with my husband.

I pray that Gloria is okay and that God is still watching over her and that she is safe at home.

The rest of my day was very uneventful compared to my morning.

Had lunch with hubby.

Picked up Sephy from school.

Went to the grocery store.

Went home.

Ate Dinner.

Blogged about my morning.
